Northern Territory Sports Academy

The Northern Territory Sports Academy (NTSA) aims to support the Northern Territory (NT) sporting community to provide enriching environments that engage, recognise and empower Territory athletes, coaches, officials and other key support personnel to optimise their potential and enhance their abilities to thrive in their sporting and non-sporting lives.

The Northern Territory Sport Academy (NTSA) is launching an exciting program to support and develop coaches and officials in the NT.

Nominations are open on 5 December 2023, for accredited volunteer coaches who are ambitious, self-directed learners, and committed to improving practical application.

Successful candidates will get chances to improve their coaching and officiating skills, knowledge, and experience.

The program is self-nominated and requires candidates to submit an online application.

The NTSA will partner with peak sporting bodies, regional councils and other key stakeholders to design and implement processes, practices and programs specific to supporting the recruitment, retention and development of coaches, officials and other support personnel (e.g. committee/board members) in paid and voluntary roles across the Territory.

The NTSA is home to world class facilities available to local, national and international athletes and teams.

The NTSA offers funding for athletes, coaches, officials and other volunteers, clubs and organisations.

National Selection Grants: athletes who have been selected to represent Australia at a recognised sporting event may be eligible for funding to help with the costs. For more information, go to the Northern Territory Government website.

The Northern Territory Sports Academy, formerly the Northern Territory Institute of Sport, has supported athletes achievements in Olympic and Paralympic Games, World Championships and Commonwealth Games since 1996.
